Driffield’s Sensation Summer is proving a real hit after the successful first Sensational Saturday Maker Market in July received glowing reviews from traders and public alike.
Word has spread and the market on Saturday August 17 will boast more than 40 stalls selling wares from cup cakes to up cycled cabinets.
ERYC Renaissance Co-ordinator, Helena Moss, who has collated feedback from the public, market traders and shop keepers, said: “We are overwhelmed by the positive response we have received about the Sensational Saturday market, clearly the general public really enjoyed the experience and we are aiming to make the remaining two Sensational Saturday Markets even better.”
Town Clerk, Claire Binnington said: “It is clear that we are building a firm foundation for future events to encourage people to visit the town and ensure our continued economic viability, we are now looking forward to planning a Sensational Christmas market as part of the Real Driffield campaign,”
The Sensational Saturday Market on August 17th will be held at Cross Hill Car Park, Driffield from 9am to 4pm, free parking is available at Dewhirst’s on Westgate and the front car park at the Methodist Church on Middle Street North, both easily accessible to the market, as well the usual car parks at the Viking Centre and Cattle Market. The Creation Station will be providing affordable art activities for the children as well as standing on the Market Place on Thursdays during the summer holidays from pm to 4pm, providing free art activities. Buskers will be encouraged to attend to entertain in the morning and the Tuba Dudes Ragtime Band will play from 2.30pm.
A Shuttle bus is available from to and from the Farmers’ Market on Saturday September 7, from 9am to 3.30pm – catch the bus from George Street or the bus station.
