Thousands raised at vintage day

A Wolds Vintage Working Day held in aid of a farming charity has been hailed a huge success after it raised over £6,000.

Sunday 8 September saw farmers and members of the public reminisce about farming in days gone.

The event, which was held at Cottam Warren Farm, Driffield, was organised by the farm’s owners Rachael and Ralph Beevers alongside Sue and Martin Cole and raised funds for RABI (The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution).

Sally Conner, Regional Manager North East for RABI said: “We made a staggering £6,500 which is absolutely fantastic and a real tribute to the organisers Ralph, Rachael and Martin and Sue Cole. We have had many emails, phone calls and messages congratulating them on such a wonderful farming day. “

The organisers have thanked all those who took part and the public who attended.

Sally added: “ he RABI would also like to pass on their sincere thanks, we have had such a hard times recently in the farming calendar, that this huge amount of money really will make a difference to our farming community.”
